How this database works

Decklists are sourced from MTGTop8, a community-maintained archive of competitive Magic: The Gathering events. We import deck data on a daily schedule and surface it here without modification — the lists you see are the lists those players registered.

Filters and what they mean

• Format — pick the format you play. Standard rotates yearly, Pioneer covers Return to Ravnica forward, Modern covers 8th Edition forward, Legacy and Vintage are eternal, Pauper is commons-only, and Commander is the multiplayer singleton format.
• Date — restrict to recent events when you want current-meta data, or go further back to study an archetype's evolution.
• Search — match against archetype names like "Dimir Midrange" or "Mono-Red Aggro".

How to read a placement

A 1st-place finish at a Magic Online Challenge represents a deeper field than a Top 8 at a local FNM, but a 5–0 record in a small Magic Online League is meaningful as a sample. Use placement as one signal among several: stack of recent results, presence across multiple events, and whether a list is converging across pilots.
