Quick Verdict
Prismatic Evolutions (SV8.5, released 17 January 2025) is built around nine Eevee and Eeveelution Special Illustration Rares. In October 2026 Umbreon ex SIR is far ahead of everything else at about $1,300 on TCGplayer, followed by Sylveon ex SIR at about $473. The Master Ball pattern cards are much cheaper than the SIRs: the most expensive, Umbreon, is about $60.
Scarlet & Violet—Prismatic Evolutions (SV8.5, set code PRE) released on 17 January 2025. It is a special set built around Eevee and all eight of its evolutions, each printed as a Stellar Tera Pokémon ex with its own Special Illustration Rare.
This guide ranks the chase cards by their TCGplayer market prices on 8 October 2026, explains the Master Ball pattern cards, and covers which cards are still legal in Standard after the April 2026 rotation.
The short version: Umbreon ex SIR is the card everyone wants, and its price shows it. The other eight Eevee SIRs sit between about $174 and $473. Everything else in the set, including the Master Ball cards, costs much less.
How the Set Was Sold
Prismatic Evolutions is a special set, so English packs were never sold in a booster box (see our Pokémon booster box guide for the sets that were). Packs came in other products:
- Elite Trainer Box: 9 packs. There was also a Pokémon Center exclusive version.
- Mini Tins and Surprise Box: released 7 February 2025.
- Booster Bundle: 6 packs, released 7 March 2025.
- Super-Premium Collection: 15 packs, released 16 May 2025.
- Premium Figure Collection: released 26 September 2025.
The set has 131 numbered cards and 180 cards in total. The 49 secret rares include 32 Special Illustration Rares and 5 Hyper Rares.
Sealed prices, October 2026
On 7 October 2026, TCGplayer market prices were about $133 for the standard Elite Trainer Box, about $409 for the Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box, about $85 for the Booster Bundle and about $63 for the Surprise Box.
The Japanese Version
The Japanese equivalent is Terastal Festival ex, released on 6 December 2024. Eevee sets have a strong track record with collectors: Eevee Heroes (Japan, 2021) and Evolving Skies (English, 2021) both became very popular, and Evolving Skies' Umbreon VMAX Alternate Art (the "Moonbreon") is one of the most sought-after cards of the Sword & Shield era. That history is a big part of why Umbreon leads this set too.
Master Ball Pattern Cards
Prismatic Evolutions was the first English set with Master Ball pattern cards, which had previously only appeared in Japanese sets such as Japanese Pokémon Card 151.
There are two reverse holo patterns in the set:
- Poké Ball pattern: the more common reverse holo.
- Master Ball pattern: much rarer. Every non-ex Pokémon in the set has one (67 cards). Trainer cards and Pokémon ex don't.
The Pokémon Company doesn't publish how often Master Ball cards appear, so any per-pack rate you see is a community estimate.
Most Master Ball cards are cheap
A Master Ball card is a nice pull, but most of them are worth a few dollars. Only the Eeveelutions reach $20 or more. In October 2026 the top Master Ball cards on TCGplayer were Umbreon (about $60), Vaporeon (about $37), Sylveon (about $32), Jolteon (about $30) and Espeon (about $28).
The Eevee Special Illustration Rares
The nine Special Illustration Rares of Eevee ex and the eight Eeveelution ex cards are the nine most expensive cards in the set.

Umbreon ex SIR costs almost three times as much as any other card in the set. Umbreon has been the most wanted Eeveelution since Evolving Skies, and this card carries that demand. Graded copies sell for more than raw ones, but grading results vary a lot, so check recent sales before paying a graded premium.
#2: Sylveon ex SIR
TCGplayer market price: about $473 (8 October 2026)
Sylveon ex SIR is a clear second. Sylveon is a Psychic-type Pokémon ex in this set (there is no Fairy type in the Scarlet & Violet era).
The Middle Group: Leafeon, Espeon, Vaporeon and Glaceon
These four sit close together, between about $263 and $318:
- Leafeon ex SIR (144/131): about $318
- Espeon ex SIR (155/131): about $304
- Vaporeon ex SIR (149/131): about $271
- Glaceon ex SIR (150/131): about $263
Leafeon is currently the most expensive of the four, ahead of Glaceon.
Flareon, Jolteon and Eevee ex
The cheapest three of the nine are close to each other:
- Flareon ex SIR (146/131): about $183
- Jolteon ex SIR (153/131): about $182
- Eevee ex SIR (167/131): about $174
Of the original Kanto trio, Vaporeon is now clearly the most expensive, about $90 above Flareon and Jolteon.

- Pikachu ex Hyper Rare (179/131): about $54. This gold card is the set's main Pikachu chase; the regular Pikachu ex (028/131) is a Double Rare and doesn't have a Master Ball version.

The full Eeveelution Master Ball line on TCGplayer (7 October 2026): Umbreon about $60, Vaporeon about $37, Sylveon about $32, Jolteon about $30, Espeon about $28, Leafeon and Glaceon about $27 each, Flareon about $23 and Eevee about $15. Outside the Eevee family, only a few, such as Dudunsparce (about $19) and Riolu (about $15), pass $15.
Pulling vs Buying
The Pokémon Company doesn't publish pull rates, so we don't quote exact odds here. Community estimates are based on samples of opened packs and differ between sources.
The structure of the set is enough to make the main point. There are 32 different Special Illustration Rares. Even if you hit an SIR, the chance that it's the one you want is small. Opening packs to chase Umbreon ex SIR almost always costs far more than buying it.
Buy the single
If you want a specific card, buy the single. Open packs because you enjoy opening packs, not as a way to get one particular card for less.
Is It Worth Holding?
Prismatic Evolutions has a few things going for it: Eevee is one of the most popular Pokémon, there was never a cheap booster box, and the Eeveelution SIRs hold high prices in October 2026. Against that, new Prismatic Evolutions products kept arriving through 2025, up to the Premium Figure Collection in September, and past performance doesn't guarantee future prices.
If you buy sealed product or singles to hold, buy what you'd be happy to own even if prices fall.
Playing the Eeveelution ex Cards
Most of the set is still legal in Standard. As of October 2026, Standard uses the H, I and J regulation marks, and the Eeveelution ex cards carry the H mark.
Eevee ex and Rainbow DNA
Eevee ex is a Basic Colorless Pokémon ex with 200 HP. Its Ability, Rainbow DNA, lets it evolve into any Pokémon ex that evolves from Eevee. Like normal evolution, it can't evolve during your first turn or on the turn you play it. That flexibility is what lets one deck run several different Eeveelution ex cards from the same Eevee ex.
Stellar Attacks
Each Eeveelution ex has a second attack that costs three different types of Energy, for example Flareon ex's Carnelian (Fire, Water and Lightning, 280 damage). Decks that want those attacks need a mixed Energy base, and the set includes support for that, such as Crispin and Glass Trumpet (both H, still legal).
A few examples, from the card text:
- Sylveon ex (Psychic, 270 HP): Angelite shuffles 2 of your opponent's Benched Pokémon and all attached cards into their deck.
- Espeon ex (Psychic, 270 HP): Amazez devolves each of your opponent's evolved Pokémon.
- Glaceon ex (Water, 270 HP): Euclase Knocks Out 1 of your opponent's Pokémon that has exactly 6 damage counters on it.
- Umbreon ex (Darkness, 280 HP): Onyx discards all Energy from Umbreon ex and takes a Prize card.
What Rotated
On 10 April 2026 the G regulation mark left Standard. In Prismatic Evolutions, that removed the 29 cards reprinted with a G mark, including Earthen Vessel, Professor Sada's Vitality, Techno Radar, Professor's Research, Roaring Moon ex, Iron Hands ex, Iron Valiant ex and Gholdengo ex. Conclusion
Prismatic Evolutions is the Eevee set of the Scarlet & Violet era. In October 2026 it is a one-card story at the top, with Umbreon ex SIR at about $1,300, and a solid group of eight more Eevee SIRs between about $174 and $473.
For collectors: buy singles for the cards you want. The Master Ball Eeveelutions are an affordable way to collect the set's theme, with most between $23 and $37.
For players: the Eeveelution ex cards and Eevee ex are still Standard legal in October 2026. The set's G-mark reprints, like Earthen Vessel and Professor Sada's Vitality, are now Expanded only.
