Every Magic set we price, newest first, with a verdict for each of its booster boxes: what the cards inside are worth at today's prices against what the box costs. Each is an average over many boxes, not a promise for yours.

whoA box's EV is the average value of the cards inside at market prices. It isn't what you'd be paid for them: selling cards one by one costs fees and postage, and much of a box's value often sits in cards worth too little to list. Each calculator shows both numbers, so you can see whether a box is priced fairly for opening or only for the chance of a big pull.
Expansion sets are large Standard-legal releases. Core sets are entry-level Standard sets (currently "Foundations"). Masters sets reprint valuable older cards. Universes Beyond brings outside worlds into Magic (Lord of the Rings, Marvel, Final Fantasy, Fallout and more).
Standard rotates roughly once a year, and sets stay Standard-legal for about three years from release. For current rotation status, see our complete formats guide.
A set appears here once we have both its booster box prices and its pack contents. Card prices come from Scryfall (TCGplayer market data) and refresh daily, as do box prices. For sets that aren't out yet, see our MTG release schedule for 2026 and 2027.
