MTG Secret Lair: Next Drops, Shipping & 2026 Resale Prices

MTG Secret Lair guide: the next drops (2 and 9 Nov 2026), how the queue and three-month shipping work, and what all 66 non-foil 2026 drops resell for.

MTG Secret Lair drops fanned out on a dark purple background: the Goblin Storm Commander deck in the centre, with Dandân, Ghost of Tsushima, Labyrinth, Hatsune Miku, Cats Are the Best and KPop Demon Hunters drops around it

Quick verdict

MTG Secret Lair is Wizards of the Coast's direct-to-fan store for limited, themed card drops: usually 4 to 8 reprinted cards with new art for $29.99 non-foil or $39.99 foil, plus Commander decks, bundles and Countdown Kits. The next two sales are the Marvel Countdown Kit ($199.99) on 2 November and the Star Trek superdrop on 9 November 2026, both at 9 a.m. PT. Expect a three-month shipping window. Of the 66 non-foil drops sold in 2026, 65 trade above $29.99 on TCGplayer and the median is $44.63 (1 November 2026). Commander decks sold through 24-hour order windows carry a much smaller premium: Odds and Ends trades at $167.24 against its $149.99 price.

The Lair After the Sale

MTG Secret Lair is Wizards of the Coast's direct-to-fan store for limited, themed Magic: The Gathering products. A standard Secret Lair drop is 4 to 8 cards, mostly reprints of existing cards with new art or crossover characters, for $29.99 non-foil or $39.99 foil. The next two sales are the Marvel Countdown Kit on 2 November and the Star Trek superdrop on 9 November 2026.

This guide covers what is coming, how a drop works from queue to doorstep, and something the store doesn't show: what each drop is worth once the sale is over. We priced every non-foil Secret Lair drop sold in 2026 on TCGplayer on 1 November 2026.

The short answer: 65 of the 66 non-foil drops sold in 2026 trade above $29.99, with a median of $44.63. Commander decks sold through 24-hour order windows hold much less of a premium than the limited-run decks before them.

Next Secret Lair Drops (November 2026)

The next Secret Lair drop is the Countdown Kit: Marvel's History of Heroes, on sale on 2 November 2026 at 9 a.m. PT for $199.99. The Star Trek superdrop follows on 9 November. This is the upcoming Secret Lair schedule as of 1 November 2026, from Wizards' announcements and the store:

Countdown Kit: Marvel's History of Heroes. The third Secret Lair advent calendar: 30 cards, one for each era of Marvel history, each randomly non-foil, foil or surge foil. Two of them are new cards from the upcoming Marvel: Darkhold Destiny set, which become legal in all formats on 2 April 2027. Our Marvel Countdown Kit guide lists all 30 cards, what they cost in their existing printings, and how the 2022 and 2025 kits have done since.

Set Phasers to Superdrop. Five Star Trek drops announced by Wizards on 27 October 2026, each $29.99 non-foil or $39.99 foil:

  • New Worlds: 10 basic lands, two of each
  • Beam Me Up: Eerie Interlude as "Beam Us Up", Momentary Blink, Essence Flux as "Materialize" and Conjurer's Closet as "The Transporter"
  • tlhIngan maH: Demand Answers, Relentless Assault, Seething Song, War's Toll and Warstorm Surge
  • KHAAAAAAAAN: Wrath of the Skies as "Best Served Cold", Commandeer, Illusionist's Gambit as "Reliant's Betrayal", Buried Alive, Genesis Wave and Fracture
  • Lower Decks: Inti, Kambal, Silas Renn and Thrasios as the Cerritos crew, and Weatherlight as the Cerritos itself

Every $199.99 spent adds a foil Return of the Wildspeaker as "Transporter Boondoggle", while supplies last. The superdrop lands four days before the MTG Star Trek set releases on 13 November.

Also in progress: the Chaos Vault's Reality Fracture Secret Lair Bundle, which Wizards said on 19 October 2026 is "delayed globally" because of "production and shipping issues". Wizards' shipping status page now gives a US window of 19 November 2026 to 19 February 2027.

How a Secret Lair Drop Works

Drops, superdrops, Commander decks and the Chaos Vault

  • Drop: the basic unit. Wizards' store says drops are usually 4 to 8 cards, sold in non-foil and foil, and that "most drops are printed as limited runs".
  • Superdrop: several drops released on the same day under one theme or season, often with bundles and a bonus card. The Corn Maze Superdrop on 12 October 2026 had eight.
  • Secret Lair Commander deck: a complete 100-card deck in Secret Lair art. Goblin Storm, Hatsune Miku and Odds and Ends all cost $149.99 in 2026.
  • Countdown Kit: an advent calendar of individually packaged cards, sold in 2022, 2025 and 2026.
  • Chaos Vault: a hidden part of the store that Wizards described in January 2025 as "an anything-goes spot" for one-off experiments. It has sold the 80-card Dandân deck ($99.99, 16 March 2026), The Oddlands basic lands, and the Zeta Set made with MSCHF.

Scryfall lists 2,866 cards in its Secret Lair Drop set on 1 November 2026, starting from the first drops in December 2019.

Sale day: the queue

Secret Lair sales open at 9 a.m. PT, most of them on a Monday. Wizards' queue FAQ explains the order:

  1. A pre-queue opens about an hour earlier, usually 8 a.m. PT. You join it by adding a product to your cart and going to checkout.
  2. At 9 a.m., everyone in the pre-queue gets a random place in line. Arriving at 8:01 a.m. or 8:59 a.m. makes no difference.
  3. Anyone who reaches checkout after 9 a.m. joins the back of the line in order.
  4. A cart does not reserve anything. A product is yours only when checkout is finished.

Wizards' 2026 announcements don't give an end date for a superdrop's sale. Drops stay on sale until they sell out or the store removes them.

Limited runs vs print-to-order

Secret Lair started in 2019 as print-to-demand: everything ordered during the sale was printed afterwards, which is why early drops took months to arrive. On 2 January 2024 Wizards announced it was "officially shifting from a print-to-demand model to a limited-print-run model for most of the product line", to shorten shipping. That is why popular drops now sell out.

In 2026 that went badly for Commander decks. Goblin Storm (18 May 2026, $149.99, one per customer) sold out in 34 minutes, according to MTGRocks, and the Dandân deck sold out in under half an hour in March, according to Draftsim. Wizards' answer came with the Hatsune Miku deck on 10 August 2026: every order placed in a 24-hour window would be filled. A first print run shipped right away, and the rest ship in 2027. Odds and Ends (28 September 2026) used the same model. In a 1 September 2026 feature, Secret Lair director Matthew Hodgins wrote that the Miku window "did exactly the job we wanted it to do" and that feedback "on Goblin Storm and the Secret Lair Dandân deck came through loud and clear".

Secret Lair shipping time: how long it takes

Plan on about three months. Wizards' production and shipping status page (updated 26 October 2026) gives each drop a three-month window, and EU and UK orders usually start about a month later than US orders:

Yes. A Secret Lair reprint is legal wherever the original card is legal, so a Secret Lair Lightning Bolt is legal in Modern. Cards that are new to Magic in a Secret Lair are legal only in Commander, Legacy and Vintage (and casual formats). Scryfall lists Jaws, Relentless Predator from the 2025 Jaws drop that way. The two new cards in the 2026 Countdown Kit are the exception: they belong to the Darkhold Destiny set and become legal everywhere on 2 April 2027.

What 2026 Secret Lair Drops Sell for After the Sale

We took every non-foil Secret Lair drop that TCGplayer lists from the Fallout Rad Superdrop (26 January 2026) to the Corn Maze Superdrop (12 October 2026), leaving out Commander decks, bundles and Chaos Vault products. That gives 66 drops with a market price on 1 November 2026:

MeasureResult
Drops66
Median TCGplayer market price$44.63
Trading above $29.99 (the standard price)65
Trading above $39.9947
Trading above $59.98 (twice the standard price)19
Trading below $29.991 (Fallout: Beyond Vault 33, $23.76)

The one drop under water is telling. Fallout: Beyond Vault 33 cost $39.99 non-foil at launch, more than the others, and it is the drop Wizards also sent beyond its own store: Wizards said its non-foil would come to WPN stores and Amazon.com, and ICv2 reported it reaching retail in cases of ten on 17 April 2026. Wider distribution is the likeliest reason it trails.

Bundles have done well too. The Cats Are the Best everything bundle ($519.99 at launch) trades at $881.23.

Read these prices with care

TCGplayer's market price is based on recent sales, before the seller pays fees and shipping. A seller nets noticeably less. The Corn Maze drops at the top of the list have not shipped yet (US orders ship from 15 December 2026), so their prices come from presale listings and are not settled. A few licensed drops launched at $39.99 rather than $29.99, so "above $29.99" doesn't always mean above what the buyer paid.

Secret Lair Commander decks: what the 24-hour window changed

DeckSoldHow it was soldLaunch priceTCGplayer, 1 Nov 2026Multiple
Goblin Storm18 May 2026Limited run, sold out in 34 minutes (MTGRocks)$149.99$494.843.3×
Dandân (Chaos Vault)16 Mar 2026Limited run, sold out in under 30 minutes (Draftsim)$99.99$222.132.2×

Odds and Ends28 Sep 202624-hour order window$149.99$167.241.1×

The pattern is plain supply. When a limited run sells out in half an hour, most people who wanted the deck missed it, and they buy from resellers. When every order in a 24-hour window is filled, most of those buyers get one from Wizards, so fewer are left to pay a premium. Miku still trades well above launch, helped by a character with a large following and a long run of Miku drops before it. Odds and Ends sits about $17 over its price.

Older Secret Lair Commander decks, sold before the order windows, trade far higher on 1 November 2026: Angels: They're Just Like Us but Cooler and with Wings $794.04, Raining Cats and Dogs $577.87, From Cute to Brute $323.65 and 20 Ways to Win $281.42. Our Commander precon guide covers the retail decks, which it prices weekly.

A few of these have a story:

  • Goblin Storm is the most expensive Secret Lair deck sold in 2026, at 3.3 times its price, and the reason Wizards moved Commander decks to order windows.
  • Dandân was a Chaos Vault experiment: an 80-card deck at $99.99. It sold out in under half an hour, according to Draftsim, and Wizards' director named it alongside Goblin Storm as feedback it heard "loud and clear".
  • Monster Hunter was due on 1 December 2025. Wizards pulled it on 26 November 2025, saying it "fell short of expectations" and that it would "rework this Superdrop entirely". As of 1 November 2026 there is no new date.
  • The PlayStation Superdrop of October 2025 split sharply: Ghost of Tsushima trades at $155.73 and God of War: Greek at $96.57, while God of War: Norse is at $39.44. The Platinum Trophy Bundle trades at $822.25.
  • Jaws includes a card new to Magic, Jaws, Relentless Predator, which alone trades at $169.39.
  • Countdown Kits have both risen: the 2022 30th Anniversary kit ($149.99) trades at $394.09 and the 2025 Encyclopedia of Magic ($199.99) at $315.72.

Four drops from this list have their own card-by-card guides: Hatsune Miku, Stranger Things, SpongeBob and Post Malone.

The Most Valuable Secret Lair Cards

Secret Lair's priciest single cards are bonus cards, not cards from the drops themselves: the 15 most expensive cards in Scryfall's Secret Lair Drop set are all bonus cards. TCGplayer prices via Scryfall on 1 November 2026:

  • Mana Vault (collector number 796★, rainbow foil), a 2024 bonus card: $3,118.88.
  • Snapcaster Mage as "Encore Electromancer", the bonus card from the 2024 Hatsune Miku drops: $1,750.08.
  • Jaws, Relentless Predator, the new-to-Magic card in the October 2025 Jaws drop itself: $169.39.

See where they sit against the rest of the game in our most valuable Magic cards of 2026.

Where to Buy a Secret Lair After the Sale

MagicSecretLair.com doesn't restock a limited drop once it sells out. After that:

  • TCGplayer lists most drops sealed and as singles. Buying the one card you want from a drop is usually cheaper than the whole drop.
  • Your local game store may get some. Wizards' WPN program sends select drops that include at least one card new to Magic to stores, in non-foil, "a few weeks following the initial release", and says availability "is highly limited".
  • Retail: occasionally. Wizards said the non-foil Fallout: Beyond Vault 33 would also go to WPN stores and Amazon.com, and it reached retail on 17 April 2026.

We haven't verified an Amazon listing as the exact Secret Lair product for any drop, so this page links TCGplayer only.

Is Secret Lair Worth It?

On the numbers, a 2026 Secret Lair bought at $29.99 has usually been worth more than that afterwards: the median non-foil drop trades at $44.63 on 1 November 2026. But that is an average across 66 drops, before selling fees, and you wait about three months for the product. Buy the ones you'd keep anyway.

If you want…Do this
One specific cardBuy the single on TCGplayer after the drop ships; it's usually cheaper than the drop
A drop you love, at the lowest priceJoin the pre-queue at 8 a.m. PT on sale day and buy from Wizards
A Secret Lair Commander deckOrder inside the 24-hour window; the latest window deck, Odds and Ends, trades only about $17 above $149.99, so there's little reason to pay a reseller
A gift for DecemberDon't rely on a new drop: Corn Maze, sold on 12 October, ships to the US from 15 December at the earliest. Buy a drop that has already shipped
An investmentDon't count on it; one 2026 drop already trades below its price, and presale prices aren't settled
To save on shippingCombine drops; US orders over $99 ship free
