Five Arceus Pokémon cards fanned out: the 2009 Arceus LV.X in the centre, with the alternate-art Arceus V and Arceus & Dialga & Palkia GX, the gold Crown Zenith Arceus VSTAR and AR1
The Short Answer

The most valuable Arceus Pokémon card you can buy ungraded in October 2026 is the alternate-art Arceus & Dialga & Palkia GX from Cosmic Eclipse (221/236), at about $572 on TCGplayer. The most valuable Arceus in the 2009 Arceus set is the Arceus LV.X (95/99), at about $186.

Graded copies are a different market. A PSA 10 Arceus LV.X (95/99) sold for $288,000 at Fanatics Collect in September 2026, and the only PSA 10 DP53 Arceus LV.X promo sold for $180,000 in October 2026. The 95/99 record didn't last: another PSA 10 copy sold for $24,600 on 25 October 2026.

Most Arceus Pokémon cards are worth far less. Of the 41 English Arceus cards with a TCGplayer market price, 24 sell for under $50, and the regular Arceus V and VSTAR from Brilliant Stars sell for about $3 and $6. This guide lists every one, ranked by price and updated weekly, and shows how to tell which one you have.

Every Arceus Card, Ranked by Price

On 30 October 2026, English Arceus cards ranged from about $1 to $572 ungraded on TCGplayer. The table includes every English card with Arceus in its name: the nine "AR" Arceus cards and three Arceus LV.X from the 2009 Arceus set, the DP and XY promos, Shining Arceus, Arceus Prism Star, Arceus & Dialga & Palkia GX, Arceus V and VSTAR, the metal cards and reprints. Each card appears once, at its most valuable printing. Reprints with a stamp, a metal finish, a different card back or a gold border have their own rows.

A few rows need context. Prices are TCGplayer market prices on 30 October 2026:

  • Arceus LV.X (Diamond and Pearl Promos) are the promo versions of two LV.X cards: DP53 came in the first Arceus Collector's Tin (November 2009) and DP56 in the second (December 2009). Treat their prices with care. On 30 October 2026, TCGplayer had DP53 at about $558 and DP56 at about $293, but ungraded copies sold on eBay for about $20 to $72 (DP53) and $20 to $76 (DP56) in October, according to PriceCharting.
  • Arceus Lv.X (94), (95) and (96) are TCGplayer's names for the three LV.X cards in the Arceus set: 94/99, 95/99 and 96/99.
  • Prize Pack Series Cards are reprints of Arceus V and VSTAR with a Play! Pokémon stamp, given out as tournament prizes. About $9 and $21.
  • Miscellaneous Cards & Products (Metal Card) are the metal Arceus V and VSTAR from the Arceus VSTAR Ultra-Premium Collection (late 2022). They're official cards, at about $10 and $14.
  • World Championship Decks (Ondrej Skubal) come from the replica of Ondřej Škubal's 2022 World Championship deck. They have a different card back and his signature, so they can't be played in tournaments. About $1 to $2.
  • 30th Celebration Classic Collection is a 2026 reprint of the Brilliant Stars Arceus VSTAR with a gold border, about $12.
  • Rarely traded cards can move a lot between updates, because a single sale can set the market price.

The Most Expensive Arceus Cards Ever Sold

The most expensive Arceus card sale we could confirm is a PSA 10 Arceus LV.X from the 2009 Arceus set (95/99), which went for $288,000 at Fanatics Collect in September 2026. Every record sale is a graded card, and all of the ones below sold at Fanatics Collect in 2026. Prices include the buyer's premium. Dates are when each auction closed. For weekly auctions, Fanatics Collect's lot pages show the next day as the sale date.

The Arceus LV.X 95/99 record came in a weekly auction that closed on 13 September 2026, after 72 bids. The listing put the number of PSA 10 copies at 22.

The DP53 promo is the Arceus LV.X 94/99 with different artwork, from the first Arceus Collector's Tin. According to Fanatics Collect's listing, nearly 450 copies have been sent to PSA for grading, and this is the only 10. It sold for $180,000 after 33 bids on 23 October 2026.

The three Design Contest promos are among the rarest Arceus cards. They're Japanese cards from a 2009 contest Pokémon ran with the publisher Shogakukan to promote the film Arceus and the Jewel of Life. Each winner received 100 copies of their design as a card, according to Fanatics Collect. The $78,000 card was drawn by Shoki Nakamura, then a third-grader. The $192,000 card, the CoroCoro Ichiban! magazine winner, sold after 20 bids on 18 October 2026 and is the only copy graded BGS 10 Pristine. PSA 10 copies of the same card sold for $8,100 to $13,999 at Fanatics Collect between July and September 2025.

Fanatics Collect removes a sale from its records when the buyer doesn't pay, so we've only listed sales that were still in its records on 30 October 2026.

The Arceus LV.X Record Didn't Hold

In six weeks, the price of a PSA 10 Arceus LV.X 95/99 fell by about 91%, from $288,000 on 13 September 2026 to $24,600 on 25 October. PSA 10 sales of the 95/99 and 96/99 at Fanatics Collect:

CardAuction closedPrice
Arceus LV.X 95/99, PSA 1013 September 2026$288,000
Arceus LV.X 95/99, PSA 1027 September 2026$156,000

Arceus LV.X 96/99, PSA 1027 September 2026$114,000
Arceus LV.X 96/99, PSA 104 October 2026$55,200

The 96/99 more than halved in a week. Ungraded copies of the 95/99 sold for about $50 to $190 on eBay and TCGplayer in October 2026, according to PriceCharting. Treat the record as a peak, not as what a PSA 10 is worth today: the latest sale is the better guide.

The Valuable Arceus Cards, Era by Era

The prices below are TCGplayer market prices for ungraded cards on 30 October 2026. The table above has this week's prices.

Platinum era (2009): AR cards and Arceus LV.X

  • Arceus (November 2009), the last set of the Platinum series: nine holo "AR" Arceus cards, AR1 to AR9, each a different type and each showing Arceus at LV.100. AR1, the Darkness type, is the most valuable at about $64. The cheapest, AR6 (Lightning), is about $36.
  • The same set's three Arceus LV.X cards: 95/99 (about $186), 94/99 (about $104) and 96/99 (about $39).
  • DP Black Star Promos (2009): Arceus DP50 (about $77) came in the Arceus Poster Pack and Poster Box. It was illustrated by Kunihiko Yuyama, a longtime director of the Pokémon anime. The DP53 and DP56 Arceus LV.X promos came in the two Arceus Collector's Tins, and their TCGplayer prices are far above recent eBay sales, as noted above.

The 2009 Arceus cards share an unusual rule: each one says "You may have as many of this card in your deck as you like", an exception to the usual limit of four copies of a card.

XY (2015–2017)

  • XY83 (2015): a full art promo from the Hoopa-EX Legendary Collection, about $78. It was the first new Arceus card since 2009.
  • XY116 (2016): a full art promo from the Mythical Pokémon Collection – Arceus, about $52.
  • XY197 (2017): a regular print of the same card, included in the Magearna Mythical Collection, about $21.

Sun & Moon (2017–2019): Shining Arceus, Prism Star and GX

  • Shining Legends (2017): Shining Arceus (57/73), about $35.
  • Forbidden Light (2018): Arceus Prism Star (96/131), written Arceus ◇ on the card. About $58.
  • Cosmic Eclipse (2019): Arceus & Dialga & Palkia GX, a Dragon-type tag team with 280 HP. The alternate full art (221/236), illustrated by Kouki Saitou, is about $572 and the most valuable ungraded Arceus on TCGplayer. The rainbow secret rare (258/236) is about $104, the full art (220/236) about $61 and the regular card (156/236), illustrated by Mitsuhiro Arita, about $31.

Sword & Shield (2022–2023): Arceus V and VSTAR

  • Brilliant Stars (February 2022) introduced VSTAR Pokémon, led by Arceus VSTAR. The alternate-art Arceus V (166/172), illustrated by kawayoo, is about $59. The gold Arceus VSTAR (184/172) is about $19 and the rainbow one (176/172) about $16, while the regular Arceus V and VSTAR are about $3 and $6.
  • Crown Zenith (January 2023): a gold Arceus VSTAR in the Galarian Gallery (GG70/GG70), with new art by AKIRA EGAWA. About $159, the most valuable Arceus printed since 2020.
  • Promos: the SWSH204 Arceus V from the Arceus V Figure Collection (2022) is about $22. The SWSH306 Arceus V and SWSH307 Arceus VSTAR from the Trainer's Toolkit 2023 are about $4 and $7.

Arceus VSTAR also won a world title: Ondřej Škubal won the Masters Division of the 2022 World Championships with Arceus VSTAR, Flying Pikachu VMAX and Hisuian Decidueye VSTAR. No Arceus card is legal in Standard play as of October 2026, but the Arceus V and VSTAR cards can still be played in the Expanded format.

Scarlet & Violet and Mega Evolution (2023–2026)

  • No new Arceus card has appeared in a Scarlet & Violet or Mega Evolution set as of October 2026.
  • 30th Celebration (September 2026): the newest Arceus is a reprint, the Brilliant Stars Arceus VSTAR in the Classic Collection, with a gold border, a glittery holofoil and the 30th anniversary logo. About $12.

Which Arceus Do You Have?

Start with the bottom of the card. The card number and set symbol tell you the set. In the 2009 Arceus set, the LV.X cards are numbered 94/99 to 96/99 and the nine AR cards AR1 to AR9. If your card says Arceus LV.100, it's one of the AR cards or the DP50 promo.

For the nine AR cards, the type tells them apart:

CardTypeIllustratorPrice (30 Oct 2026)
AR1Darknesskawayoo$64
AR2GrassShin Nagasawa$44
AR3FireWataru Kawahara$38
AR4WaterKouki Saitou$58
AR5ColorlessMitsuhiro Arita$58
AR6LightningWataru Kawahara$36
AR7PsychicKagemaru Himeno$53
AR8FightingHajime Kusajima$37
AR9MetalTOKIYA$46

For an Arceus LV.X, check the number in the bottom right corner. The two promos have a black star promo symbol instead of the Arceus set symbol, and each has different artwork from its set version, by the same artist:

CardNumberIllustratorWhat it doesPrice (October 2026)
Arceus LV.X94/99ShizurowOmniscient: uses the attacks of all your Arceus in play$104
Arceus LV.X promoDP53ShizurowSame as 94/99$558 on TCGplayer, $20–$72 on eBay

Arceus LV.X promoDP56Ryo UedaSame as 95/99$293 on TCGplayer, $20–$76 on eBay
Arceus LV.X96/99Ryo UedaPsychic Bolt: 100 damage$39

For a modern Arceus, check two things:

  • The number. If it's higher than the set total, as in 258/236 or 184/172, it's a secret rare. The rainbow cards are 258/236 and 176/172, and the gold ones are 184/172 and GG70. Numbers that start with "GG" belong to Crown Zenith's Galarian Gallery.
  • Stamps and backs. A Play! Pokémon stamp marks a Prize Pack card. A different card back and Ondřej Škubal's signature mark a World Championship deck card. A gold border and the 30th anniversary logo mark the 2026 reprint.

Fake Arceus Cards: VMAX, ex and 10,000 HP

Search results for Arceus cards include listings for an "Arceus VMAX" and for gold "10,000 HP" Arceus cards. Neither is real:

  • There is no Arceus VMAX. Cards sold under that name are custom-made or fake.
  • There is no physical Arceus ex. Arceus ex exists only in Pokémon TCG Pocket, the digital game, where it arrived in the Triumphant Light set in February 2025.
  • No official Arceus card has more than 280 HP. The highest are Arceus VSTAR and Arceus & Dialga & Palkia GX, both at 280, so a "10,000 HP" Arceus is a novelty card.
  • The metal cards are official. The metal Arceus V and VSTAR came in the Arceus VSTAR Ultra-Premium Collection, sold only at GameStop in the US when it came out in late 2022.

For any Arceus worth more than a few hundred dollars, buy a graded copy or buy from a seller with a clear return policy.

How Much Is Your Arceus Card Worth?

Most Arceus cards are worth less than $50. On 30 October 2026, the median price of the 41 English Arceus cards on TCGplayer was about $38. Of those 41 cards:

  • 13 sell for under $20
  • 24 sell for under $50
  • 7 sell for $100 or more
  • 2 sell for $500 or more, and one of them is the DP53 promo, whose TCGplayer price is far above its recent eBay sales

The regular Arceus V and VSTAR from Brilliant Stars sell for about $3 and $6. The money is in the 2009 LV.X and AR cards, the early promos, the alternate-art Arceus & Dialga & Palkia GX and the gold Crown Zenith Arceus VSTAR.

Grading matters most for the 2009 cards. Prices in the table are what ungraded copies have recently sold for on TCGplayer, and scratched, bent or worn copies sell for less. A PSA 10 can sell for far more: an AR1 is about $64 ungraded, but a PSA 10 sold for $9,000 on 25 October 2026, and PSA 10 copies of the other eight AR cards sold for $3,960 to $7,500 in the same auction, according to Fanatics Collect's sales history. Modern cards gain far less: a PSA 10 alternate-art Arceus & Dialga & Palkia GX sold for $3,840 on 11 October 2026, about seven times its ungraded price, and PSA 10 copies of the gold Crown Zenith Arceus VSTAR sold for $280 to $395 in October.

Check recent sales before you pay. For cards that rarely sell, TCGplayer's market price can sit far from what copies actually sell for. The DP53 promo is the clearest case: about $558 on TCGplayer on 30 October 2026, against about $20 to $72 for ungraded copies on eBay that month. It works the other way too: on 30 October 2026, the Arceus LV.X 96/99 had a market price of $38.99, but the cheapest copy listed on TCGplayer was $275.99.

How this list is built

Every week we pull TCGplayer market prices for every English Pokémon set through tcgcsv.com, a public mirror of TCGplayer's data. We keep every card with Arceus in its name, outside of notes in brackets, and list it at its most valuable printing. Jumbo cards and sealed products such as booster packs, tins and decks are left out, as are cards with no recent market price. Pokémon TCG Pocket cards are digital, so they aren't on TCGplayer at all. Record sales come from Fanatics Collect's lot pages and sales history, cited below.

If You Mean the Platinum Arceus Set (2009)

Arceus is also the name of a 2009 expansion, the fourth and last set of the Platinum series, released in English on 4 November 2009. It has 111 cards: 99 numbered cards, the nine AR Arceus cards and three shiny Pokémon, SH10 to SH12. Its most valuable card isn't an Arceus but the Gengar LV.X.

The set's ten most valuable cards on TCGplayer on 30 October 2026:

#CardNumberPrice
1Gengar LV.X97/99$699
2Ponyta (shiny)SH11$261
3Gengar, reverse holo16/99$226
4Arceus LV.X95/99$186
5Gengar, reverse holo17/99$170
6Shinx (shiny)SH12$165
7Salamence LV.X98/99$138
8Bagon (shiny)SH10$120
9Charizard, holo1/99$113
10Arceus LV.X94/99$104

Arceus in New Sets

No new Arceus card has appeared in a Scarlet & Violet or Mega Evolution set as of October 2026. The only Arceus in a current set is a reprint: the Arceus VSTAR in the Classic Collection of 30th Celebration (September 2026), at about $12 in October 2026.

Opening packs until you pull one particular card usually costs more than buying that card outright. If you do want to open packs, our Pokémon booster box guide compares what every set's box costs per pack.

Conclusion: Which Arceus to Look For

The record prices belong to top-graded 2009 cards, led by a $288,000 PSA 10 Arceus LV.X in September 2026, and they fell fast: by 25 October a PSA 10 95/99 sold for $24,600. Ungraded, the valuable Arceus cards are the alternate-art Arceus & Dialga & Palkia GX, the three LV.X cards, the nine AR cards, the early promos and the gold Crown Zenith Arceus VSTAR.

If you've found an Arceus, check the number and set symbol against the tables above. For the most valuable Pokémon cards of any kind, including the $16.49 million Pikachu Illustrator, see our most expensive Pokémon cards list, updated every week.
