Quick Verdict

The most valuable Umbreon you can buy ungraded in October 2026 is the Umbreon VMAX alternate art from Evolving Skies (215/203), known as Moonbreon, at about $2,325 on TCGplayer. Next are the Aquapolis holo Umbreon (H29) at about $1,250 and the Prismatic Evolutions Umbreon ex Special Illustration Rare (161/131) at about $1,240. Most Umbreon cards are worth much less: 23 of the 64 English Umbreon cards on TCGplayer sell for under $50.

The Short Answer

The most valuable Umbreon you can buy ungraded in October 2026 is the Umbreon VMAX alternate art from Evolving Skies (215/203), known as Moonbreon, at about $2,325 on TCGplayer. Next are the Aquapolis holo Umbreon (H29) at about $1,250 and the Prismatic Evolutions Umbreon ex Special Illustration Rare (161/131) at about $1,240.

Graded copies are a different market. A PSA 10 Gold Star Umbreon sold for $104,920 at Goldin in April 2026, and price trackers report two later PSA 10 sales at $168,000 and $216,000.

Most Umbreon Pokémon cards are worth far less. Of the 64 English Umbreon cards with a TCGplayer market price, 23 sell for under $50. This guide lists every one, ranked by price and updated weekly, and shows how to tell which one you have.

Every Umbreon Card, Ranked by Price

The table includes every English card with Umbreon in its name: Umbreon ex, V, VMAX and GX, Umbreon & Darkrai GX, promos, stamped versions and reprints. Each card appears once, at its most valuable printing. For example, the Neo Discovery holo row shows the Unlimited price, because 1st Edition copies rarely sell ungraded.

A few rows need context:

  • Prize Pack Series Cards are reprints with a Play! Pokémon stamp, given out as tournament prizes. The stamped Umbreon VMAX (095/203) sells for about ten times the normal Evolving Skies card.
  • World Championship Decks cards are reprints from the yearly Worlds decks, with a player's signature and a different card back. They can't be played in tournaments, and they sell for much less than the originals.
  • Rarely traded cards can move a lot between updates, because a single sale can set the market price.

What Is Moonbreon?

Moonbreon is the collectors' nickname for the alternate-art Umbreon VMAX from Evolving Skies (215/203), illustrated by Keiichiro Ito. The art shows Umbreon in front of a huge full moon, and fans started calling it Moonbreon within weeks of the set's release in August 2021.

Umbreon is one of Eevee's evolutions, the Eeveelutions, and Evolving Skies gave several of them alternate-art V and VMAX cards. Moonbreon became the most valuable card in the set. In October 2026 it was also the most valuable ungraded card from any Sword & Shield set on TCGplayer, ahead of the Rayquaza VMAX alternate art from the same set (about $1,270).

The price has climbed for five years:

WhenUngraded price
August 2021 (release)$250–$400
Late 2022About $500
2023–2024$800–$1,200
October 2026About $2,325

Earlier figures are from Pokemon Price Tracker; the October 2026 price is TCGplayer's market price. PSA 10 copies sold for about $4,000 to $5,500 in July 2026, with the last recorded sale at $4,416.67 on 20 July. PSA had graded more than 21,000 copies as a 10 by then, which keeps the graded premium smaller than for vintage cards.

The Most Expensive Umbreon Cards Ever Sold

The big sales are all graded cards, and the biggest is the Gold Star.

CardGradePriceWhen
Umbreon ★ (Gold Star), POP Series 5 (2007), 17/17PSA 10$216,000 (reported)August 2026, Fanatics Collect
Umbreon ★ (Gold Star), POP Series 5PSA 10$168,000 (reported)June 2026, Fanatics Collect
Umbreon ★ (Gold Star), POP Series 5PSA 10$104,920April 2026, Goldin
Umbreon VMAX alternate art (Moonbreon), Evolving Skies, 215/203PSA 10$4,416.67July 2026

The Gold Star Umbreon is the rarest English Umbreon. Gold Star cards were the rarest pulls of the EX era, and this one was only in POP Series 5 packs, given out through Pokémon Organized Play in 2007. About 740 copies have been graded by PSA and about 52 got a 10, according to figures cited by Polkastarter and Bill's Archive.

The two Fanatics Collect sales come from price trackers and collector guides, which don't agree on every detail, and we couldn't check them against the auction records, so treat them as reported. The $104,920 Goldin sale is listed by several trackers.

The Valuable Umbreons, Era by Era

The prices below are TCGplayer market prices for ungraded cards on 18 October 2026. The table above has this week's prices.

Neo and e-Card era (2001–2003)

  • Neo Discovery (2001): Umbreon's first English cards. The holo (13/75) is about $817 in Unlimited, and the non-holo (32/75) about $300 in 1st Edition. 1st Edition holos sell so rarely ungraded that TCGplayer has no market price for them.
  • Aquapolis (2003): the holo Umbreon H29/H32 is about $1,250, the second most valuable ungraded Umbreon. The reverse holo of the regular card (41/147) is about $270.
  • Skyridge (2003): the non-holo Umbreon (32/144) is about $380. The holo Umbreon (H30/H32) trades too rarely ungraded to have a market price.

EX era (2003–2007)

  • EX Sandstorm (2003): 24/100, about $200 as a reverse holo.
  • EX Unseen Forces (2005): Umbreon ex (112/115). The original has no recent market price; the World Championship Deck copy is about $101.
  • EX Delta Species (2005): Umbreon δ (Delta Species, 17/113), about $1,040 as a reverse holo.
  • POP Series 5 (2007): Umbreon ★, the Gold Star (17/17). Ungraded copies sell for thousands but too rarely for TCGplayer to show a market price.

Diamond & Pearl to Black & White (2008–2013)

  • Majestic Dawn (2008): 32/100, about $90 as a reverse holo.
  • Undaunted (2010): Umbreon Prime (86/90), about $668. The holo Umbreon (10/90) is about $200 as a reverse holo.
  • Call of Legends (2011): 22/95, about $215.
  • Dark Explorers (2012): two Umbreons (60/108 and 61/108), about $97 and $117 as reverse holos.
  • Plasma Freeze (2013): the Team Plasma Umbreon (64/116), about $175.
  • Black and White Promos: Umbreon BW93, about $250.

XY and Sun & Moon (2016–2019)

  • Fates Collide (2016): Umbreon EX. The full art (119/124) is about $152.
  • Sun & Moon base set (2017): Umbreon GX. The rainbow secret rare (154/149) is about $131 and the full art (142/149) about $57.
  • Hidden Fates (2019): the shiny Umbreon GX from the Shiny Vault (SV69/SV94), about $307.
  • Unified Minds (2019): Umbreon & Darkrai GX (125/236), about $96. The promo version (SM241) is about $233.

Sword & Shield (2021–2022)

  • Evolving Skies (2021): six Umbreon V and VMAX cards. The Moonbreon Umbreon VMAX (215/203) is about $2,325 and the alternate-art Umbreon V (189/203) about $378. The rest are much cheaper: the rainbow VMAX (214/203) about $83, the full-art V (188/203) about $55, the regular VMAX (095/203) about $29 and the regular V (094/203) about $9.
  • Brilliant Stars Trainer Gallery (2022): Umbreon V (TG22) and Umbreon VMAX (TG23), about $71 and $97.

Scarlet & Violet and Mega Evolution (2025–2026)

  • Prismatic Evolutions (January 2025): the Umbreon ex Special Illustration Rare (161/131) is about $1,240, the most valuable card in the set and the most valuable Umbreon printed since 2023. The regular Umbreon ex (060/131) is about $8, and the Master Ball reverse holo Umbreon (059/131) about $54.
  • 30th Celebration (September 2026): the Umbreon ex (092/128) is about $1. A full-art Umbreon ex promo (MEP 110), tied to the 30th Celebration releases, is about $200.

Which Umbreon Do You Have?

Start with the bottom of the card. The card number and set symbol tell you the set. If the number is higher than the set total, as in 215/203, it's a secret rare, and the valuable modern cards are almost always these.

For an Evolving Skies Umbreon VMAX, check the number:

NumberCardPrice, October 2026
095/203Regular Umbreon VMAXAbout $29
214/203Rainbow secret rareAbout $83
215/203Alternate art, MoonbreonAbout $2,325

Moonbreon is the one with the full moon in the art. The rainbow secret rare has a rainbow foil finish over the whole card.

For a Prismatic Evolutions Umbreon ex, the Special Illustration Rare is 161/131, with full-card art and two gold stars as its rarity symbol. The regular Umbreon ex is 060/131.

For a Gold Star Umbreon, look for the small star next to the name. The 2007 original is POP Series 5, 17/17. The Celebrations Classic Collection reprint (2021) also says 17/17, but carries the Celebrations set mark and a modern copyright date, and sells for about $78.

Is Your Umbreon Worth Money?

Often, yes, more than for most Pokémon. In the October 2026 data:

  • 14 of the 64 English Umbreon cards sell for under $20
  • 23 sell for under $50
  • 28 sell for $100 or more
  • 6 sell for $500 or more

Umbreon cards hold their value better than most because collectors chase the Pokémon itself, not only the rare prints. Even older reverse holos and promos often sell for $100 or more. The cheap ones are the regular cards from recent sets: the 30th Celebration and Prismatic Evolutions commons, the regular Umbreon ex, and the McDonald's promo.

Condition matters as much as the card. Prices in the table are what ungraded copies have recently sold for on TCGplayer. Scratched, bent or worn copies sell for less, and a high grade from PSA, CGC or Beckett can multiply the price of a vintage card many times over.

Watch for fakes. Popular, expensive cards like Moonbreon are the ones counterfeiters copy. For any card worth more than a few hundred dollars, buy a graded copy or buy from a seller with a clear return policy.

How this list is built

Every week we pull TCGplayer market prices for every English Pokémon set through tcgcsv.com, a public mirror of TCGplayer's data. We keep every card with Umbreon in its name, outside of notes in brackets, and list it at its most valuable printing. Jumbo cards are left out, as are cards with no recent market price. Record sales come from the published reports and price trackers cited below.

Umbreon in Booster Packs

If you'd rather open packs, two sets have a chase Umbreon. Our set pages compare what each product costs per pack and list each set's most valuable cards:

Both sets have dozens of secret rares, and Evolving Skies has been out of print for years, so opening packs to pull one particular Umbreon costs far more than buying the card. Our Prismatic Evolutions chase cards guide covers that set's other Eeveelutions, and the Pokémon booster box guide compares what every set's box costs per pack.

Conclusion: Which Umbreon to Look For

The record prices belong to the Gold Star Umbreon from POP Series 5, now a six-figure card in PSA 10. For everyone else, the valuable Umbreons are the Neo Discovery and Aquapolis holos, the EX era Umbreon δ and Umbreon ex, Umbreon Prime, and two modern cards: Moonbreon and the Prismatic Evolutions Umbreon ex.

If you've found an Umbreon, check the number and set symbol against the table above. For the most valuable Pokémon cards of any kind, see our most expensive Pokémon cards list, updated every week.
